ABOUT US
GO Hockey Leadership and Development is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering female hockey athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the ice. Our mission is to cultivate leadership skills, confidence, and resilience among young women, establishing a supportive community, and to increase the number of girls exposed to and continuing in hockey and sports.
By offering inclusive programs for girls of all skill levels and income backgrounds, GO Hockey strives to eliminate barriers and ensure that every girl who wants to learn and play hockey has the chance to do so!
GO Hockey's programs are tailored to the unique needs and motivation of female athletes and provide opportunities for girls to excel in hockey while building confidence, promoting teamwork and developing essential life skills that will serve them well beyond the rink. These will include development programs, workshops, seminars, and leadership and team-building opportunities such as;
- Hockey programs, tournaments and camps focused on skill development, while building confidence and promoting teamwork.
- Leadership workshops to develop strong female leaders in our community and provide them the skills and tools to be successful.
- Team building programs and activities to develop strong work ethics and inclusivity.
- Mentorship programs with successful female role models.
- Volunteer programs for high school and university students, to work with and teach other girls in our programs.
- Coaching opportunities for young women to gain the skills needed to coach girls in hockey and increase the number of female coaches in minor hockey.
Our programs are delivered by experienced and trained coaches and through partnerships with existing local hockey development businesses, volunteer coaches, schools, minor hockey organizations and women’s hockey associations.
